Cookie policy

What are cookies?

When you browse pealHQ, cookies may be stored in your browser. A cookie is a small file used, for example, to keep you logged in or remember a preference.

This policy covers pealhq.com, the application and the portals provided by pealHQ, published by LDSR Ventures. Browser local storage (“localStorage”) is also described below.

Why do we use them?

pealHQ uses cookies for technical and functional purposes: operating the service, securing your browsing and remembering your interface preferences.

pealHQ measures visits to its website and signup page with PostHog in cookieless mode: nothing is stored on your device and visits are counted anonymously. In the application, the team accounts’ usage is measured the same way, with no cookie or local storage, using the account id, to improve the product; displayed text is not collected. This data is hosted in the European Union. Our customers’ portals and widgets are not measured at all, and pealHQ uses no advertising cookies.

Cookies we use

These cookies are not all stored as soon as you visit the marketing website: their presence depends on your login and the features you use.

locale
Remember your chosen language for future visits.
Duration: 1 year.
pealhq-host-session
Maintain your session, login and temporary information required by forms.
Duration: 120 minutes, renewed as you use the service.
XSRF-TOKEN
Protect forms and actions against fraudulent requests made without your knowledge (CSRF protection).
Duration: 120 minutes, renewed as you use the service.
remember_*
Enable persistent login when it is activated in your login flow.
Duration: Up to 400 days each time it is issued; deleted when you log out of the relevant context.
peal_anon_id
Recognise your anonymous participation on a public portal to retrieve your votes and contributions. Created when you take an action, not simply when you read.
Duration: 1 year.
appearance
Remember your choice of light, dark or system appearance.
Duration: 1 year for the cookie; also kept in local storage until deleted.
sidebar_state
Remember whether the application sidebar is open or closed.
Duration: 7 days.

The server session expires after 120 minutes of inactivity. Technical names may vary by environment. On portals accessible at /w/workspace-name, session, CSRF protection, persistent login and anonymous identity cookies have a workspace-specific suffix and are restricted to its path. They do not log you out of other portals or the administration area.

Cookies set by pealHQ are restricted to the current domain. Display preferences may be shared across pages on the same domain.

Local storage and changelog widget

The appearance key stores your appearance preference. The changelog widget uses a key named peal:changelog:workspace-name:seen to remember announcements you have already seen and display the number of new updates.

This information remains in the browser’s local storage without automatic expiry, until it is deleted or replaced. When the widget is embedded in a third-party website, its reading history is stored in the browser under that website’s domain.

Any other trackers used by a third-party website embedding the widget are not set by pealHQ and are covered by that website’s policy.

How can you manage or delete them?

In your browser settings, open the privacy or site data section, find the relevant domain and delete its cookies and local storage. You can also configure your browser to block cookies.

Deleting this information may log you out and reset your preferences. On an anonymous portal, it may also prevent your previous contributions from being recognised. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent login, voting or form submissions.

For guidance, see the CNIL’s advice on managing your browser.
